    A strange way to negotiate......

One side has clearly stated that they represent the UK.......The other has clearly stated that they will only represent the EU as a whole and have banned individual member countries from speaking to the UK.....

There is no ban - the British and Irish governments up to Prime Minister level have had multiple talks on Brexit and it's implications.

Learn to keep up with stuff that comes from your PM's mouth...

I have no problem with you not believing what is going on......I know because I listen.......

no talks that will influence the outcome though.....that is banned by a senior representative of the EU.....He said so and he is the BOSS.......

Member countries will only have a say when he is finished....He said so......

They have to shut up.........He said so......

Then at the end they can be threatened to do as the EU wants.....I said that because it is true up to now.....

I await events from the UK and the Dictators.....

Barnier is a paid servant of the EU... he's no one's 'boss'.

He has a mandate from the EU member states to negotiate with the UK on the following - and nothing else...
              • The question of EU citizens in the UK and vice versa
              • The UK 'debt' payment to the EU
              • The question of the Irish border

He reports back to the EU member states in October who will then decide if negotiations can progress to discussing the future relations with the UK during and post-Brexit.

Any EU member can veto the entire process at that point - that is what Adams is encouraging the Irish government to do in October if the proposed border arrangements conflict with the national interest.
              Everything is self-evident.

Barnier is from the EU, he will discuss and negotiate the ''Irish' border......and everything else.....Just as you have admitted above he has said he will not allow any individual member country to discuss/negotiate on their own behalf for their own good.......They are Banned from doing so.......He will not allow it....Those are his words....he is the big chief and he only represents the EU's interests, that is what he said....He implied it would be the EU as a whole.....

Individual member states are Banned from acting in their own interests.......

Just as Merkel told Juncker to ''Shut up''......Barnier has told all the member states to shut up.....

The silence is deafening.....At the moment........

a foreigner is negotiating on behalf of Ireland and he does not have to consult Ireland......

The Irish parliament was silent when he told them that......

That is the situation as it stands....

The rest of the member are Banned....He said so.......''They are not allowed''

That will put enormous pressure on Ireland when it is allowed to have its say......time will be running out.....''Barnier's favourite saying'' and he says that for his own reasons.........

All of the above is simplistic, ill informed nonsense.

Barnier as already pointed out, is an EU civil servant, appointed by, paid for and answerable to the EU Commission and EU member Heads of State.

Barnier and his team have been in constant consultation with the Irish government and officials both here and in Brussels since his appointment last year after the referendum result and he's fully aware of the Irish position on the border and how Brexit may impact this island. How else do you think the Irish border ended up at the top of the list for agreement before any future trade arrangements could be discussed ? That was certainly not a British initiative...

Ireland has no wish nor interest in negotiating with Britain on the terms and details relating to it's withdrawal from the EU - that's for the EU appointed negotiating team to do with their British counterparts. However, that has not prevented the Irish government and other stakeholders here from speaking out on what are considered matters of vital national interest - and permission from Monsieur Barnier was not looked for or expected. If you think Varadkar, Coveney and other public figures have been 'silent' on Brexit then you've had your head stuck down a rabbit hole for the past number of months...

Statement from the EU on Barnier's appointment as lead EU Negotiator last June...

'The Heads of State or Government of the 27 Member States as well as the Presidents of the European Council and European Commission held an Informal Meeting in Brussels on 29 June 2016 following the Referendum of 23 June in the United Kingdom.
They agreed on the need to organise the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union in an orderly fashion. Article 50 of the TEU provides the legal basis for this process. Full Statement of the Informal Meeting at 27, of 29 June 2016.
In line with the principle of 'no negotiation without notification', the task of the Chief Negotiator in the coming months will be to prepare the ground internally for the work ahead. Once the Article 50 process is triggered, he will take the necessary contacts with the UK authorities and all other EU and Member State interlocutors.'

And addendum to the same statement..

'Michel Barnier, as Chief Negotiator, will be ranked at the Director-General level and will take up his duties as of 1 October 2016'.
                    Everything is self-evident.

''brexiters'' are, and even your illustrious leader seems to not understand,,,,probably because he is a Europhile, the UK...Tell him the results of the referendum was passed in the UK parliament and the letter was sent by the UK government... ..(I personally had nothing whatsoever to do with it).....

I am still amazed how the truth is denied even when it comes from the horses mouth...
