Oh i saw that ad too tolka...and i know of someone who had a similar experience....I think our bodies are all so different and it depends on how your immunine system is working.....Mine isnt lol...its fecked up with this lupus..

Congratulations DTW on giving up the smokes its a hard thing to do...and requires a lota dedication...I was off them for 13 years at the longest stretch, giving them up wasnt hard...staying off them was......id go for months and not even think of one...but then something would happen out of the blue and id run around in circles wanting one lol...being around smokers didnt bother me either...the 2nd time i gave them up for a little more than two years, i just butted out the one i was smoking and that was it..but i changed my routine to not include going for coffee with friends who were smokers..and that was my downfall.....as soon as i was back into my regular routine id no urge to smoke.....so when theyd all go for a smoke, id go with them....drink coffee and chat.....never even wanted a smoke... Im sure my lungs are as black as coals...but so far no issues with them..i know the mechanical issues i have with my heart will get me a long time before the smoking does lol....

That's it...that was the Da....70 odd yrs on the fags an no bother until that one gasp for breath....then off smokes and onto the pipe for the remainder of his life to 94.... so yes it does have differing effects I guess and all down to yer make up......I got fed up payin the robbin feckers £10 a pack an lookin at all the empty boxes in the bin....but I'd had a good 50 odd yrs out the fags so no complaints....and no cravings.....an a good few bob extra in me bank.

joe, I watched a u.k program last night on t.v about binge drinkin, it featured a set of mature identical twins in a month long experiment on the affects of binge drinkin on the vital organs . something I never knew , the liver is very durable, you can cut half of it away and it will regrow to full size in about 8-9 months. that's why liver transplants are very successful generally. but as you say if its damaged you're in trouble.

cos, I have never had my liver checked.......I have no idea how it is.....

I get my info like yourself...from the telly.....I had gall bladder problems though nobody could find the problem......When they did open me up the Doctor said they were ''Rocks'' and by that time very life threatening.......

Being a seven nights drinker all my life, one day I just said that is enough.....A couple of shandies a couple of times a year is now my limit....I have spent the saved money on my family......

                      Helen,
You wouldn't believe the people that come up here for the smokes. The gas was 82cents a litre the other day and you can also buy gear in their stores with no tax.The restaurant is packed most days as no tax again.

Probably costs way more up in port perry after they get drawn to the casino lol.
One of my son in laws buddys father had to move away from the island as he was in there all the time.

I watched that the other night, very interesting. I think the regeneration time for the liver was even quicker about 6 - 8 weeks. I had no idea you could take half a liver and transplant it.
