Loving the BBC Red Button Service, it has given me the opportunity to watch sports I wouldn't normally get to see on the main BBC or RTE channels. The Archery, Judo, Fencing and Shooting were great to watch over the weekend.
Good to see a great spread of medals already, Vietnam got its first ever Gold Medal as did Kosovo.

The Olympics are so boring..... so so boring .. that the mainstream media can only drum up interest by focusing on who has been caught taking drugs.
Without drugs ..... the Olympics could never reach the front page.Last edited by riposte; 09-08-2016, 02:41 AM."Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, misdiagnosing it, and then misapplying the wrong remedies.”

Minister of Sport / Tourism / Transport [ Shane Ross ] the same fella who dosen't think it proper to intervene in the possible upcoming bus strike , but for some reason or other he thinks it correct to travel out to Rio to investigate the " ticket touting scam " ..........oh , and also to try and give the Irish contenders a morale lift , as no medals seem to be forthcoming .

I think it's outrageous the amount of money that can be found for this two week spectacle by a near bankrupt country with rampant poverty, that could be far better spent improving people's lives, but that would make sense.
