  • Bridgefoot Street

Hi, sorry if I've posted this in the wrong area but I am looking for any info on or pictures of Bridgefoot Street flats. I have searched through nearly every internet page and can only find one or two. My nanny, da, aunties and uncles all lived in the flats and would love to have a few pictures of them.
    Thanks

Hi Jordan G - if you click on Search at the top of the page - type Bridgefoot Street and tick 'show posts' you'll get quite a few results. Can't vouch for pics of the flats but it's worth looking.

Will copy this to 'South City' - might get buried in 'History'.
    Everything is self-evident.

Did ye know Jimmy O'Dea and Bang Bang Dudley both lived in B'Foot Street...not at the same time, but next door neighbours.
                      1. Jimmy as Biddy Mulligan with Ursula Doyle.
                      2. Bang Bang in Clonturk House, Drumcondra 1980.

I lived in 133 Thomas Street, just left of this photo, until 1969. The house was demolished, along with the post office on the corner, to widen the road down to Bridgefoot Street. I paid RTE 20euro for the only photo I've ever seen of our place. Must use this site more often to check for photo's of Thomas Street.

                            Dublin Salt Mills, Bridgefoot Street

Is this view on Bridgefoot Street taken from 'the top of the hill' looking down/north to the quays?

If so, is the whiteish building to the right, before the flats, which looks like a garage, the location of the Dublin Salt Mills which existed on that spot up to the 1930s?

                            Thanks

There is a Thomas Street Thread in here if you'd care to do a search....and it has a fair few pix too.
