Hi all,
As the days are getting longer and the light getting better (in theory), I have resumed updating my website Off The Beaten Track. And what better way to start the new year than with a trip on the 44 from Larkhill to Enniskerry. Up to May 2012 this route operated from Townsend Street to Enniskerry via Ballyogan. However, through Network Direct, it replaced the 3 on the northside of the city and dropped the Ballyogan loop. It also shares the same routing as the 61 from D'Olier Street to Dundrum.
Pictures from my travels can be found here:
But to show the changes on the route over the last 29 years, I have this selection of pictures below.

Thanks! I do like and try to recreate shots from the past and show the changes but sadly that was not possible for the 26. Have discussed this with other bus enthusiasts and it seems the 26 was possibly the most rarely photographed route in years past. Very hard to find old shots of it, so if anyone has any it would be great to see them.

Found this picture while scanning some negatives at home. It shows DAF SB 220 demonstrator bus in Hawkins Street about to operate a 62 to Kilmacud. 16th September 1989:

Also a shot taken just over twenty-six years ago showing D 421 at the 64A terminus in Kilmacud/Stillorgan, 5th April 1988:
Scan D 421 by Csalem's Lot, on Flickr
I have added a new page to Off The Beaten Track showing some older shots of buses on routes 62, 64 and 64A:
I have placed them as a subpage of my page on route 11 since the 62 was merged with the 11:
Of course now no bus serves that terminus near the Stillorgan shopping centre, though the 47 and 75 pass nearby.
