i wallpapered a room for a friend there in the 1960's.....can't remember the number..

Another family who lived in this house was the wheelers .I remember he told me i was so crowded that at the weekend he used to spill a packet of marrowfat peas down the stairs and tell the kids to collect them all so he could have a matinee

Pegasus here. The Photo host I have used over the past couple of years 'Imageshack' have changed their structure resulting in the photos I deposited with them, and resized, returning to their original size and being very hard to view. I intend going into their site and resizing the photos and hope they will return to a normal size. Apologies to anyone scrolling back through this site and finding it difficult to navigate.

Managed to get myself organised. I would like to include a slight diversion in this site as well as the normal content. I show a photo I took about a year ago and one I took a week or so ago. 'Now you see them, now you don't'. For perhaps 100 years people and family lived in these houses, now they are gone. If they have no photographic record. Here is one for them.

Another photo I took just over a year ago and one I took this week of the same site. The old flat block 'French Mullen Flats' Charlemont Street, were only demolished a couple of months ago. Again many people lived there over the long number of years they stood. So in case you did not have a photo of them here it is.

Thanks for that info. I remember visiting St Ultan's years ago and then reading something of a local doctor why had built it because of the high infant mortality rate at the time... or something very similar. Last I heard was again a few years ago when they were forcing old residents out so that the flats could be demolished.

I recognise Buckingham Buildings (as they were known back when) as I was born just an ass's roar away and used to play in the Bunkey Arches. The pawn and the dinner house were just across the road.

Is the top pic the Parnell St end of Nth Gt George's St?
