One of the ideas of having this site is to provide a store of photos of existing buildings in Dublin that are old and may not have too many years to run. Developers are greedy and when economic conditions go back, as they will eventually, to the 'mad old days', a lot of the existing old buildings will be erased and modern monstrosities put up in their place. It is a terrible pity that we only have a minute photographic record of Dublin's old housing so I feel it is important to leave a record for those who are members of these sites in 50 years time.

Great photos, love the one of chapelizod hill, with the fiat 850 and the renault dauphine. Wheres the standpipe which should be located by the the 40 sign.
I remember haring down the hill on my pushbike, and jamming on the brakes the last second. They always worked, thankfully.
Also I just copped, there is no stop sign at the bottom of the hill, despite it intersecting with the old N4, which was the main road to galway.Last edited by Sharkface; 27-10-2013, 02:42 PM.Old age and treachery will outdo youth and skill anyday
