Great photos of Dublin Cinemas. That photo of The Adelphi would have been from the early Sixties. That was my favourite Cinema in Dublin.
The scene of all my Thursday night visits to see all those Pop Groups and Singers like The Beatles,The Stones,The Bee Gees,The Beach Boys,The Walker Bros.,
The Supremes,The Ronettes,Del Shannon,Roy Orbison,Gene Pitney,Bob Dylan & The Band etc.etc.I almost forgot to mention the Fantastic Ella Fitzgerald. They all
appeared there during The Sixties. Two shows each night starting @ 6:30 p.m. and the second show @ 9:00 p.m.What Great Times we had in that Great Cinema.Last edited by camden; 17-06-2012, 02:39 AM.

Broadway Cinema - Manor Street.
Opened in 1914 - closed in 1956

Opened in 1914, the cinema sat 630 people and was originally known as the Manor Cinema. Later, it was known as the Palladium, and then finally the Broadway Manor Street Cinema. A fully fledged traditional style cinema, the interior had a balcony level. The exterior boasted a glass and iron canopy over the doorway. TheEverything is self-evident.

The Tivoli - Burgh Quay; not to be confused with the Tivoli in Frances St.
It closed in 1930 to make way for the new Irish Press offices and printing works..
