  • if you don`t have this map , this is the url , there are three of them I`v downloaded , but I can`t seem to put up , some very interesting names and streets that are long gone.

                • The John's Ambulance hut ..it was on the central part of the road in O Connell street
                  .just behind it is the Hammam hotel destroyed in 1922

                  You can see on the Hamman it was also a Turkish Baths
                  It was one of the biggest

                  They had a special sixpenny rush for the poor of the city entrance Saint Thomas lane behind it

                          • dt, go to #7696 on b/w pictures and bring up the map and go to Thomas st , corn market end.

                            sorry that should be old colored pics...….its the drink.

                                Had a look T and yes that is St Caths you're highlighting.
                                The map red arrows shows both churches St Cats and St John the Baptist, and the one I'm talking about regarding Aelred the Palmer was exactly where the alter of St Johns stands today....The blue arrow is where Chadwicks iis....the old City Sawmills....hope that clears it up.
